Don Becker's Automatons & Puppets

Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque, Iowa hosted a free virtual event with artist Don Becker on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Washington D.C.-area artist Don Becker has mastered various media over the last 30 years, including puppetry, scenic painting, and chainsaw cutting. He is a skilled marionette maker, and was recently featured on NPR for his automatons, small mechanical sculptures that come to life with the turn of a crank. During this online presentation, Don talked about his artwork and studio, demonstrated his automatons and puppets, and answer viewers' questions.
