How to do the first ride on a horse that hasn't been ridden in 1 year plus - Groundwork and Saddle

He was started as a 3 year old and ridden for 45 days then put out to pasture for over a year. At this point he has been lunged for about 20 minutes. I will gain control of his 5 body parts on the ground then do the same control exercises in the saddle. He had no problems with anything as was a very good little horse. He was nice and soft and I did not feel that he would buck.
