- When I first met Mamatha Baiju, Premalu hadn’t been released yet it was much earlier. At that time, we were casting for all the characters, and we were conducting auditions for female lead roles.

- We carried out the casting process like an election each of my assistant directors selected five actors. After that selection, we presented the choices to the producer.

- In the first round of auditions, Mamatha’s name didn’t come up. Around that time, Premalu got released and people started talking about it.

- Later, one of my assistant directors suggested Mamatha Baiju. I also knew someone from the Jana Nayagan team, and they spoke highly of her performance. Pradeep Ranganathan also mentioned the same.
