2022/2023 Season of Teatro San Carlo (Naples, Italy)

Jonas Kaufmann, Elina Garanca, Diana Damrau, Ailyn Perez, & Sondra Radvanovsky lead Teatro San Carlo’s 2022-23 Season. The Teatro San Carlo has announced its 2022-23 season. Here is a look at the performances.

The season opens with Verdi’s “Don Carlo” starring Matthew Polezani, Ernesto Petti, Ailyn Perez, Michele Pertusi, Elina Garanca, and Alexander Tsymbalyuk. Juraj Valcuha conducts the production by Claus Guth. Performance Dates: Nov. 26-Dec. 6, 2022

Lorezno Passarini conducts concert performances of Verdi’s “Rigoletto” with Pene Patti, Ludovic Tezier, Alessio Cacciamani, Nino Surguladze, and Nadine Sierra. Performance Dates: Jan. 15-24, 2023

Charles Castronovo, Ildar Abdrazakov, and Anita Rachvelishvili lead Berlioz’s “Le Damnation de Faust” with Pinchas Steinberg conducting. Performance Dates: Feb. 7-15, 2023

Luca Salsi, Sondra Radvanovsky, Francesco Castoro, and Giulio Pelligra lead Verdi’s “Macbeth” with Marco Armiliato conducting concert performances. Performance Dates: March 9-18, 2023

Dan Ettinger conducts Wagner’s “Die Walküre” with Jonas Kaufmann, John Relyea, Christopher Maltman, Vida Miknevičiūtė, Varduhi Abrahamyan and Okka van der Damerau. Performance Dates: April 16-29, 2023

Rapahel Pichon conducts Mozart’s Requiem with Giulia Semenzato, Sara Mingardo, Nahuel di Pierro, and Julian Pregardien. Romeo Castellucci directs. Performance Dates: May 16-20, 2023

Riccardo Frizza conducts Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” with Maria Agresta, Elina Garanca, Xabier Anduaga, and Alexander Vingradov. Performance Dates: June 8-16, 2023

Diana Damrau and Selene Zanetti lead Puccini’s “La Bohème” with Vittorio Grigolo, Vincenzo Constanzo, Laura Ulloa, Maria Sardaryan, and Andrzej Filończyk. Francesco Lanzillotta conducts. Performance Dates: June 30-July 7, 2023

Ailyn Perez, Valeria Sepe, Saimir Pirgu, Vincenzo Constanzo, Marina Comparato, and Ernesto Petti lead Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Dan Ettinger conducting. Performance Dates: Sept. 12-28, 2023

Jessica Pratt leads Bellini’s “Beatrice di Tenda” in concert with Andrzej Filończyk, Matthew Polenzani, and Chiara Polese. Performance Date: Sept. 23, 2023

Carlo Tenan conducts Ludovico Einaudi’s “Winter Journey” with Malia, Badara Seck, and Jonathan Moore. Performance Dates: Oct. 7 & 8, 2023

Michele Mariotti conducts Rossini’s “Maometto II” in a production of Calixto Bieto. Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Varduhi Abrahamyan, Dmitry Korchak, and Roberto Tagliavini star. Performance Dates: Oct. 25-Nov. 5, 2023
