In Somerset, on the east shore of the Severn Estuary in England, sits Clevedon, not your typical modern seaside town but a throwback to the Victorian era. Its pier was described by Sir John Betjeman as "the most beautiful pier in England" and is now Grade I listed.
Ladye Bay is a small cove with a lovely pebble beach with a small stretch of sand sheltered by the cliffs. You will often see swimmers who go from Ladye Bay to Clevedon Pier, and it is the home of the annual "Long Swim", which covers about a mile down to the pier.
Clevedon' Pill,' as locals know it is a small inlet where two bodies of water (the Land Yeo and the Blind Yeo) meet the Severn Estuary.
