Why are Italians refusing the AstraZeneca vaccine? | ITV News

With EU countries lagging someway behind the UK in vaccinations - you might have thought people there would be keen to have any kind of jab.

Not so. In many EU countries they consider the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine second best - to either the Pfizer or Moderna jabs.

Why so? Well a few of their own politicians have been talking it down, some say, to cover the EU being slow to complete contracts.

All of which has backfired, and reduced the take-up of the Oxford jab.
