One-week construction time-lapse with closeups: Week 25 of the Ⓢ-series

Week 25 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and "sub-time-lapses" at various speeds, condensing the week of July 20 - 25, 2020, into about 57 minutes.

This week starts out with yet another all-day #concretepour, including an extended segment with the ride-on trowels, and we also catch glimpse of the guy down below that has to catch all the drips and leaks. The flatness-measuring-guy has a nice clear course this time, with no obstacles.

We see various views of the central core forms coming, going, and raising. A little bit of column work, but I didn't cover much of that this time. A lot of the preliminary work for post tensioning is seen, as well as another fairly good view of the #posttensioning process itself.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, a man in the alley threatens one of the security guards with a knife, and the security guard tases him in response. At that time of night, the only camera is a wide angle and only 1 frame every 10 seconds, but you can get the gist of it.

There's some exciting sewer grate work. A good view of jumping the placing boom. The site is finally getting a lift (elevator), which we take a field trip to see a little of, since the location is not viewable to us from our usual vantage point. It will be several weeks before the lift is operational and inspected, though. And since we're out on a field trip anyway, some street-level shots of the building from various angles round out the episode.

Last week I mentioned that I was going to ponder whether to change things up from the current format, with an eye towards fending off repetitiveness. After looking through the next several episodes I've decided, for better or worse, to continue on with the current format, even though there might naturally be some repetition due to the construction on each floor being similar. Actually, even when the building eventually exceeds the camera height, a fair amount of new stuff starts showing up, more than I expected. And a little bit of repetitiveness isn't so bad, I think, as it gives a somewhat realistic account of the process, and not everyone watches every episode anyway. So, on we go!
