Keep in mind that this video was shot in lowlight. The custom buttons are the best settings for easy access to your manual focus. If you practice these techniques you can get some really great cinematic footage and B-roll. I shot this video on my A7iii in Cine 2 so the footage matched up to the test footage taken the other day in the Ode to Rain video.

Set manual focus in your custom buttons - Menu - Tab 2 Page 8 - Custom Buttons - (1) C2 to AF/MF Ctrl Toggle & Top C1 to Focus Standard

MF Assist allows you to manually focus more easily because the image is automatically enlarged during manual focus adjustments. While the magnified image is displayed, you can use the top/bottom/left/right side of the control wheel to adjust which part of the image to magnify. Turn the control wheel to adjust the focus. You can also change the magnification scale by pressing the center of the control wheel.
