Chang’e-5 landed in Inner Mongolia
The Chang’e-5 sample return vehicle successfully landed in Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, on 16 December 2020, at 17:59 UTC (17 December, 01:59 local time). Chang’e-5 is China’s first lunar mission to collect soil samples from the Moon and returns them to Earth to be studied. Chang’e-5 collected samples near Mons Rümker, in the northern region of Oceanus Procellarum, a younger volcanic complex.
