I showed this video to my mom and she cried.

When you ask someone who you think of when you think of a successful founder, they’ll likely bring up names like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. This might seem to be the norm today, but can have troubling effects on the beliefs of future generations. However, I believe that with the power of inspiring content, we can encourage everyone, especially young girls, to pursue paths that might otherwise seem closed off to them.

A few months ago, I didn’t know what an IPO, venture capital, or pitching were. But after I learned, I was opened up to a whole new world of possibilities. This led me to think — what would happen if girls as young as 6 years old who already loved watching Roblox videos could see a story of a young girl succeeding in this world? The effects can be profound.

This led to Salt, the story you are watching right now. Through this 3-minute video, we sought to share the story of a woman navigating promotions, limiting beliefs, and startups, persevering and finding her voice in the world.

This video would not have been possible without the inspiration from two amazing women I wanted to shout out. First, Anita Sands, who taught us to “lift as you climb” and build a community where women support women. Second, Tiffany Pham, an incredible founder and believer in inspiring women through the media.
