How To Install Sharkbite Push To Connect Fitting

In this video, I demonstrate how to install a Sharkbite push to connect fitting. Fact: SharkBite fittings are approved by the Uniform Plumbing Code and International Plumbing Code for permanent installation. Fact: In New York City-Removable mechanical joints are prohibited. AKA you can not use them in New York City...period!

There is a right way and wrong way to use these fittings and I'll show you my method and some things to be aware of should you decide to use them. Speaking for myself, I'm not a fan of push fittings in general but do admit I use them in emergencies when I need a quick fix.

I'll always return the following day to make permanent repairs using tried and true soldered joints. How to install Sharkbite push to connect fittings seems to be taking over the D.I.Y. world, but there are some things you should be aware of before deciding to use them.
