Some days in markets can be exciting - and some days can be quite dull - and in Fraser Macleod's view from Shaw and Partners - it was quite the latter. The local market closed lower at the end of today's trade, with miners lagging as the Fed's meeting minutes hinted towards the central bank sticking with its hiking cycle. The tech sector had a better day after taking positive cues from the strong finish on Wall Street overnight. Gold and banks also slumped. South32 remains Fraser's favourite large cap miner, and he also views Goodman Group as a longer term investment rather than a trading stock.
