Lecture: Activist Graphics | Evenings for Educators
Since the mid-twentieth century, inventive design and political activism have flourished in California through the work of designers and artists who have used their creativity to advocate for civil rights, oppose wars and injustice, and press for change. Join us to hear from curator Staci Steinberger about powerful graphic artworks in the exhibition What Would You Say: Activist Graphics from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (https://www.lacma.org/art/exhibition/what-would-you-say) and learn how to connect your students to important issues, past and present.
What Would You Say: Activist Graphics from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (https://www.lacma.org/art/exhibition/what-would-you-say) is on view at four regional venues in 2022-23 through the Local Access initiative: California State University Northridge (CSUN) Art Gallery, the Lancaster Museum of Art and History, the Vincent Price Art Museum, and the Riverside Art Museum.
