Visiting The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park

The park was established through private donations and designated as a park run by the War Department, like the battlefield sites. It was transferred to the National Parks system in 1933.

The park is made up of two locations. The birthplace with a memorial on the site where the future president was born. Then, there's a separate spot about 10 miles away where the family moved after his birth. The original buildings in which Lincoln lived are gone, but there are structures from that period
