Introduction
This stream is for entrepreneurs who have the financial resources and farm management experience to establish a new or purchase an existing farm in Alberta.
Candidates must submit their application, along with a proposed business plan, to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) for assessment. The AAIP will consult with Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation to ensure the business plan is feasible and viable, and meets the needs of Alberta’s agriculture industry.
Note: If the AAIP discovers fraud or misrepresentation in an application, a candidate may be banned for up to 5 years from reapplying to the AAIP.
Before you apply
You may only have one Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) application in process at any time.
How to withdraw an application in process
If you decide to request the withdrawal of an application, email your request with your AAIP file number to lbr.pnpoffice@gov.ab.ca.
The AAIP must confirm that your application has been withdrawn before you can submit a new application. The AAIP will send you an email advising when your application has been withdrawn.
If an application is withdrawn, the application fee will not be refunded.
