New 12 Foot 4 Crash Beam Installation at the 11 foot 8 Can Opener Bridge after removing the old 11 foot 8 bent crash beam.

This $500,000 Rehabilitation project of the North.Carolina Railroad bridge over Gregson Street in Durham to increase the roadway clearance from 11’8” to 12’4” for the purpose of improving safety and reducing damage to NCRR infrastructure from vehicle strikes. The raising of the bridge will not causing huge regrading throughout Durham and will let train traffic continue throughout the day.

They are unable to lower the road due to the sewer below the road which will cost millions of dollars too removed and will cause important utilities to shut down for weeks or even months.
