1. Resorts : 🏡 While private resort islands offer the most luxurious stays, they can also be expensive incase you are in a tight budget. Choosing a local island gives the opportunity to interact with locals and experience some of the most incredible marine life

2. Transportation: 🛥️ Public ferries are the most economical way of travel but they are not as frequent so you need to plan your trip accordingly (1$/ person). Otherwise, there are speedboat services provided by individual hotels / islands (starting from 25$ / person)

3. Bikini Beaches: 👙 Maldives is a Muslim country and visitors should be aware of the local culture and customs. Bikinis are allowed only on designated beaches or designated areas of the island

4. Consumption of Alcohol: 🍻 The sale and consumption of alcohol is restricted for locals but tourists are allowed to consume alcohol, its only sold at tourist resorts, hotels & some restaurants

5. Activities: 🤿 You can go diving with sharks but that requires you to be an advanced diver or you can even dive with turtles. Its important to choose a good diving school & guide to have a fun & safe experience
