How will the Coronavirus Pandemic Affect the 2020 Election? | QT Politics

The COVID-19 pandemic is, by any measure, one of the most world-changing events of our lifetimes. The coronavirus has spread rapidly to every corner of the world, and with it always, have come dramatic changes to our ways of life: from our governments, to our economies, and even our cultures.

According to the World Health Organisation, the United States is currently among the hardest-hit countries in the world, with nearly 700 thousand confirmed cases—more than any other country on earth.

As protestors in Michigan defy their stay-at-home orders to demand an end to the lock down, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have taken to their windows and balconies to applaud front-line heath care workers during their 7pm shift change.

This is Pandemic Time. A time of fear and heroism; of mourning, and frustration, and upheaval; of anger and perhaps a touch of hope; but most of all, it's a time of isolation and boredom.

In this new cultural, economic and political landscape, little remains as it did before the virus struck. In this video, I'll address how the pandemic might reshape the 2020 presidential election between Republican President Donald Trump, and his presumptive Democratic challenger, Joe Biden.

In particular, I'll talk about how both of the candidates odds are changed by the coronavirus. In other words, who will it help, and...
