Here's a quick little review I made of the Zoom H6, a great versatile bit of kit that I use to record drums cheaply and on the fly without needing too much equipment!

If you wanted to make it even cheaper, you don't even need other mics to start off with, you can just use the built in overhead/room mic, and then build up your mic collection over time.
