Oracle Fusion Implementation Phases Overview | Full Project Lifecycle Explained
Oracle Fusion HCM Implementation Phases Explained (End-to-End)
Oracle Fusion HCM implementations follow a structured, phase-driven lifecycle.
Understanding each phase clearly is critical for successful delivery, risk control, and long-term system stability.
In this video, I explain the end-to-end Oracle Fusion HCM implementation journey, breaking down what happens in each phase, why it matters, and how teams should approach execution in real projects.
🔹 Phase 1: Project Initiation & Planning
(Inception and Planning)
This is where the foundation is set.
Project scope, timelines, governance structure, stakeholders, and delivery teams are defined.
Strong planning here prevents downstream delays and escalations.
🔹 Phase 2: Requirements & Design
(Design / Configuration)
Detailed business requirements are gathered and mapped to Oracle Fusion HCM capabilities.
Configuration decisions, process designs, reporting needs, and integration planning are finalized in this phase.
🔹 Phase 3: Build & Development
(Development)
Core system configuration is performed.
Integrations are built, data migration activities begin, and reports or extensions are developed as required.
🔹 Phase 4: Testing & Validation
This phase ensures solution readiness before go-live.
It includes:
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Data validation and defect resolution
Testing confirms that business processes work end to end.
🔹 Phase 5: Deployment & Go-Live
(Deployment and Go-Live)
Final data migration, cutover activities, and system launch for end users.
User training, access validation, and production readiness are critical at this stage.
🔹 Phase 6: Post Go-Live Support & Optimization
(Post Support / Hypercare)
After go-live, the focus shifts to stabilization.
This includes hypercare support, issue resolution, performance monitoring, and planning future enhancements.
