The FlatOut series has sold a total of almost 3 million units worldwide.FlatOut: Head On for the PlayStation Portable has sold over 300,000 units. Since 2010, FlatOut games are developed by Dutch Team6 Game Studios, with the first release in 2010 exclusively for the Wii system.

FlatOut was released on November 5, 2004 for Windows, Xbox, and PlayStation 2. Developed by Bugbear Entertainment, FlatOut is the first game in the FlatOut series.
