A Very Lovely She Shed!

Have You Heard Of A "She Shed"? I'm Sure You'd Want One. Check it out, took a short video at the shower party I attended. 😉

The shed is 12 ft by 16 ft on a concrete floating slab.

The rock walls are actually veneered molded concrete ( a variety of molded concrete stones with coating (paint or stain of some sort).

Menards building supplies has a varied number of color schemes of rock to choose from. I’m guessing that all the building supply stores have a similar selection.

Installation of the rock wall process or layers…..

Stud wall
Added paneling on the outside of the wall facing inwards for a wood effect (so I wasn’t looking at plywood).
Added ½ inch plywood (at the ground level or bottom 2 feet, used green treated plywood per code)
Stapled Tar paper to the plywood
Stapled steel mesh to the tar paper / plywood
Applied a skim coating of concrete – and let dry.
Buttered the back of the veneered stones with concrete and stuck them to the skim coating, starting from the ground up. If you hold them there for a little bit, they’ll stick.
Kind of have to lay out a rock plan to make it appear natural – they sell corner pieces which help as starting points for some rows.
Once the wall is full of rock, add concrete to the grout lines via a point – tuck process (very tedious).
Used a piece of 10 or 12 gauge solid electrical wire – bent in a 1.5-inch circle to smooth out the concrete grout line for a consistent look.

All the windows and doors on the outside have thick trim to line up a little more with the stone.
