02:13 Mindboss: Armored Chopper
03:15 Stage 1 boss: Entrance Security
03:28 Stage 2 start
05:08 Stage 2 boss: Magnus (knock out the two gunners and it's defenseless)
05:28 Stage 3 start
07:15 Stage 3 boss: Dethgerbis
07:36 Stage 4 start
08:30 Stage 4 midboss: Giralal (Galerel)
09:05 Stage 4 boss: Metal Alien
09:19 Stage 5 start
10:54 Stage 5 midboss: Hydra Alien
11:00 Final boss: Emperor Demon Gava (Jagger Froid/Gaver the Emperor Devil)
11:41 Final boss dies
11:56 Ending and credits
Super Contra's aiming system is a trade-off, being 16-way instead of 8. You don't always instantly snap to another direction... often, you tend to sweep to it. Sometimes this is useful, but at other times it can be annoying.
The level 2 machine gun is the bomb. You can totally murder the bosses in seconds with it, unlike Super C.
NES Super C is different in many ways, but still worth checking out also. Some areas get changed, and there are some new levels and enemies. A few bosses are moved around. The 16-way aiming is reverted to 8, like the original Contra.
Warning: The Amiga and MSDOS versions which also go by the name Super C are frankly terrible. Play them at your own risk.
Q: Where's the 2nd loop?
It's only in the Japanese version. The 2nd loop is always played on Very Difficult, even if you have the internal setting on Easy. You will keep the weapon you finished the 1st loop with.
