The Time a Christian Visited a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall

In my early days of ministry, waaaaay before the Tubes of You, I used to frequent many events that surrounded the Jehovah's Witness religion. One thing I'd do is visit their Kingdom Hall. This is different from the time I went to visit a psychic. My theology wasn't a metaphysical mess this time. This was a very educational and fruitful time for me, and to the best of my memory, I want to share what my first visit was like. I wanted to respect the privacy of the women I attended the Kingdom Hall with, so I didn't mention them by name or give details about their lives. There's no way they'd ever have gone to church with me, because to them our churches are worldly, of the devil. Me going to them led to many very Gospel-centered conversations and thoughtful challenges to their beliefs that I was able to put forth that I otherwise wouldn't have had an opportunity to do.

*I want to be clear and say that I'm not saying that every Christian needs to go visit a Kingdom Hall, especially someone that is new in the faith or isn't equipped to enter into that kind of situation. I was ready, willing, equipped, and knew exactly what I was walking into and did it for good reasons and it ended up being a very fruitful thing for me with sharing the Gospel effectively with JW’s. This was the very roots of my ministry. I like to revisit this time in my life often to remind myself that there are people that are in the bondage of strict legalistic religion and know nothing of the love of God. They are stuck with rigid religious rules that they'll never be able to follow, and it’s a reminder to me of the power of the Gospel and that Jesus can indeed free them from their bondage.
