When to use Decision Table Testing?

How to test a functionality where multiple input parameter influence the output of software? Imagine testing the discounts feature on an e-commerce site. Factors like user's membership, location, order quantity, and payment method can create a mix of possibilities. For example, if a user has a prime membership, is in a metro city, and buys more than five items using a credit card, the discount might be X%. Another combo? A different discount!

Decision table testing is a black-box testing technique that focuses on input-output combinations and is mainly used when we need to test a functionality where multiple inputs influence the output.
