The Story of Uwais Qarni | When Umar (RA) & Ali (RA) Requested Dua

After the passing of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a remarkable incident took place during the caliphate of Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA).
The Prophet ﷺ had once advised that if anyone meets Uwais Qarni, they should request him to make dua for them. Uwais Qarni was a simple and humble man from Yemen, unknown to many but deeply beloved by Allah.
Years later, when caravans from Yemen arrived, Umar (RA) would ask each time:
“Is there anyone named Uwais among you?”
One day, they finally found him — a quiet man, tending his goats, بعيد from the crowd. When Umar (RA) and Ali (RA) approached him, they requested him to make dua, just as the Prophet ﷺ had instructed.
Despite his humility, Uwais Qarni (RA) made dua for them and for the entire Ummah.
