Glider Riders - Stories from Normandy

Short Documentary with detailed accounts and footage from the Normandy period.

The 325th GIR fought alongside troopers from the 505th RCT and other regiments near Sainte-Mère-Église. At La Fière bridge they took massive casualties when they went on the offensive and it became one of the bloodiest battles of Normandy. After these actions they earned the respect and admiration (and later equal pay) of 82nd paratroopers.

The 505th RCT is one of the UK's largest 82nd Airborne group that specialises in battle re-enactments. The 505th RCT strives to bring the history of the unit to life.
