Abandoned Station House | Time Capsule

Today we are visiting this Victorian Tudor Gothic style building that dates back to 1848, this station was closed in the 1960s which lead to it being converted into a private dwelling, the remains of which we see here today.

In 1865 this was the site of a rail crash which killed 13 and injured 30, there’s an eerie feeling as soon as you step through gates, maybe this tragic accident all those years ago left something behind.

I found a small bit of information about the most recent occupants who are now deceased, the man who lived inside the house had a caravan at the back of the garden where his daughter and grandchild lived, its said that the daughter had some issues with drug use and sadly passed away.
The caravan remains, and although being swallowed up by the overgrowth, still holds all their belongings inside like they only left yesterday. Photos of a lady and of a baby lay scattered around, the babies room hides in the back, an unsettling feeling made us feel like leaving the caravan promptly after going into this room.

Trains continue to pass by and shake this large empty red brick house every now and again, then it returns to silence, sat here amongst the countryside.
Old possessions still remain inside, some rooms pristine, some severely decayed.

Another location that has seen so much, holds so much history but has now been forgotten...
