In the Star War Films, no one is depicted reloading their blasters, leading to speculation about potentially unlimited ammunition. This, however, is a misconception. Blasters utilize compact energy cells known as gas packs, which contain a complex blend of over 100 different gases tailored to the blaster bolt's specifications. The potency of a blaster bolt correlates with its cost, as some are more powerful or specialised and, consequently, pricier. A standard E-11 blaster's gas pack could yield upwards of 500 shots, and carrying multiple gas packs was not uncommon. But despite the substantial ammunition capacity, blasters do have a notable limitation: they are prone to overheating, which is a significant disadvantage during prolonged use.
