How to check how much propane you have left

If you are using a standard 15lb tank, you can just hop on the scale with your propane tank and have a rough guess of how much propane is left. I consistently get right around 34 pounds when full, and 17 or so when empty. Just weigh yourself and the tank, and then weigh yourself and subtract your body weight. It's an easy alternative to spraying your tank with soapy water.
