Steam Engine ‘Boadicea’ Dyno Fail

McLaren steam road locomotive Boadicea having a try on the Dynamometer at Welland Steam Rally, didn’t quite go to plan as the belt slipped off and wrapped around the engines flywheel. Credit to the engine driver for getting it all stopped very quickly in what must of been frightening conditions up there! Luckily nobody was in the way of the belt as it smashed the cast iron seat clean off and caused some damage to the canopy. Pretty impressive to see!

The power reading they managed was 111BHP and 3554 lbft torque at 165RPM
