Hz
The world is divided into 2 camps 50Hz or 60Hz discovered by Heinrich Hertz who noticed an electric current had a frequency or wave of 50 cycles per minuet. USA decided to change to 60 CPM to dominate the world with products and generators, they lost.

60Hz is 20% faster and smother but more expensive to produce thus100V was produced later updated to 120v 240v was made for large appliances washers, driers and air con.

Volts is the pressure of current thus 240v requires larger cable and cost more to produce than 120v.

AMPs
Are the amount of current the appliance needs to function,
eg. TVs, in the USA 120v 3 AMPs in UK 240v 13 APMs twice as expensive.

Watts
The higher the watts the more it cost to use
eg. Kettle USA 120v 600 watts in the UK 3000w 13 AMPs 5 time more expensive, why?
