Location: Rotorua New Zealand

The biggest tourist attraction in Rotorua New Zealand is the natural hot springs. However, a lot of the hot springs in New Zealand cost $30 to visit. We didn’t exactly want to pay $30 to watch water boil so we explored two free hot springs options in Rotorua New Zealand.

First we dug our own natural hot spring on the shore of lake Rotorua. Digging your own natural hot spring is one of those things that sounds way better than it is in real life. You’ll just have to watch the video to see!

Next we visited free local park with tons of natural hot springs and geothermal activity. That was plenty for us, but if you want see a geyser unfortunately you’ll have to pay to visit Hell’s Gate or one of the paid geothermal parks in Rotorua New Zealand.
