Antique O&R Chainsaw Engine Converted for RC Airplane - THE BENCH TEST

I was given an old Ohlsson and Rice chainsaw engine, I have scratchbuilt electric RC for a while now and the giver thought I could make it fly. The engine did not run,so with my little engine experience I resurrected this 50 year old engine and put a prop on it.

Specs as I think I know them:
Ohlsson & Rice Compact III 1hp engine
1967+
1.34 CID = 21cc
1hp @ 6300RPM
$50 in 1960’s = $360 today

Prop in vid: 12x6
Prop it should have: 16x8! (should require 1hp to turn at 6300 rpm)

Diagnostics: it was dirty, but had spark and surprisingly good compression. Revved right up on fuel put right down the carb, but the carb didn't seem to work. Took it apart, decided the diaphragm was probably the culprit. Found a guy on ebay who replicates diaphragms for these old carburetors, super nice guy. Some ignition wires failed, cleaned all that up and with some tuning she RUNS GREAT. (for a 50 year old micro engine with one carb jet.)

Stay tuned for flight videos in coming weeks.
