'Totally hopeless': Boris Johnson slams health secretary in leaked messages

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s former adviser Dominic Cummings has leaked text messages from the prime minister himself calling Health Secretary Matt Hancock “hopeless”.

Mr Cummings published partial WhatsApp exchanges between him and Mr Johnson in a 75,000 blog post as part of an ongoing feud with the British government.

The messages from March 27 show an exchange where Mr Cummings warned of Britain lagging in COVID-19 testing compared to other countries and criticised Mr Hancock’s handling of the situation.

Downing Street has not denied the messages’ authenticity.
