Kenilworth Lodge, Sebring, Fl. Recently added to the National Registry of Historic Places, closed in 2016 due to tax liens and multiple code violations. Built in1916, this resort hotel was a thriving winter hotspot for Northerners until the Turnpike and I-95 bypassed most of central Florida to take travelers to Miami and the Keys. Many places along the old travel routes closed years ago. This place held on long after. But the tax man caught up. Will it reopen? It is starting to decay a bit. Floors creak, ceiling collapsing on top floor. Will need renovations soon to stay viable for a future!
