No distant conversations.
Only silence.
An uncomfortable silence.
Dust covered the floor.
Spider webs hung from the ceiling.
Many of the lights no longer worked.
The area looked untouched for decades.
As Michael moved farther down the corridor, he began noticing strange things.
Scratches covered the walls.

The handle suddenly rattled.

A sharp metallic sound echoed through the corridor.
Michael immediately stepped backward.
Fear surged through him.
Then the emergency lights activated without warning.
The entire hallway turned red.
Flashing warning lights illuminated the darkness.
The atmosphere instantly changed.
The corridor felt alive.
Dangerous.
Wrong.
Michael looked back toward the door.
And his blood ran cold.
The scratches on the metal surface had changed.
Words had appeared where there were none before.
A warning carved directly into the steel.
