Hill 493 begins with Turner’s squad holding position at the captured mill before learning that Pierson and the 2nd Platoon are already engaged on the enemy-held hill. Furious and determined, Turner rallies his men and pushes up the slope under relentless machine-gun fire. Along the ascent, they find Aiello wounded and press forward, clearing multiple MG nests to relieve Pierson’s pinned squad.

To break a fortified bunker, the team escorts an engineer to plant a pole charge under heavy suppressive fire. The explosion clears the position but costs the engineer his life. With the bunker destroyed, the squad advances to silence enemy artillery guns bombarding Allied forces below. Just as victory seems within reach, a Tiger II tank arrives with reinforcements, turning the battlefield into chaos. Daniels disables the tank with thermite, but the fight takes a devastating turn when Turner is shot protecting his men.

In his final act, Turner orders the squad to retreat while he covers their escape, sacrificing himself to save his platoon. The next morning, leadership shifts as Pierson assumes command and promotes Daniels to Corporal, marking a turning point in both the war and Daniels’ journey.
