Woman Breaks into Bridgeview Home, Commits Suicide after Shooting Father and Daughter

A woman dressed in all black broke into this south suburban Bridgeview home late Sunday night, seriously wounding the father and his daughter with a semi-automatic gun before apparently fatally shooting herself. The Father age 52 and his daughter age 27 were shot multiple times by the home invader; they were both taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. It appears the woman broke into the house through a basement window while the couple and their three children were inside.
His wife and two other children, a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were able to escape unharmed through the front door before police arrived.
When a Tactical Unit arrived on the scene they forced entry by shattering the rear patio sliding glass door, it was then they discovered the shooter sprawled out dead in the kitchen floor; the 28 year-old woman was bleeding from the head from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A semi-automatic gun was recovered along with three magazines, each of which holds up to 15 rounds, the chief said. He said about 15 rounds were fired inside the home.
The motive behind the shooting is under investigation, authorities said.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was assisting with the investigation.
