Josh Swihart is the CEO of Electric Coin Co., creators of the Zcash protocol and the Zashi app. Electric Coin Co. is building a full-stack user experience for Zcash, delivering products that advance financial privacy, self-sovereignty, and economic freedom.

Josh is a firm believer that financial privacy is foundational to this work and essential to protecting human dignity, security, consent, and self-sovereignty. His personal journey has deeply shaped his commitment to privacy and amplified its importance. From his early days using anonymous handles on bulletin boards, privacy gave Josh the freedom to explore identity and expression. As he later learned how extensively personal data was being collected and exploited online, those early experiences evolved into a mission. That mission ultimately led him to help build and lead the team advancing financial privacy through Zcash.
