Active Directory Lab — OU Design & Delegated Administration | Windows Server 2022 Home Lab

In this video, I provide a full walkthrough of my Active Directory home lab built on Windows Server 2022 using Hyper-V. This project focuses on realistic enterprise administration, covering everything from Organizational Unit (OU) architecture to granular permission delegation.

We’ll look at how to automate user provisioning, set up secure delegation for specific departments, and troubleshoot common Hyper-V networking issues when using RSAT.

Key Features Demonstrated:
Organizational Unit (OU) Design: Built a scalable "CORP" structure to mirror a real-world business environment.

Delegation of Control: Demonstrated how to delegate specific administrative tasks (like password resets) to non-admin users without granting full Domain Admin rights.

Security Testing: Verified that delegated rights are scoped correctly—showing a successful reset in the Finance OU while being denied in the IT OU.

Hyper-V Networking: Solved the "Internal vs. External" switch dilemma to allow RSAT tools on a client machine to communicate with the Domain Controller.
