International Women's Day Chat with the She rOars team, Sabrina Simpson and Leanne Maiden

If you had never rowed a day in your life, would you sign up to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for charity, in a bid to encourage the women of the world to step into their power?

Would you sign up to an extraordinary (and sometimes excruciating) adventure that would see you sleeping on the row boat.. cutting the cockles off the underside of the rowboat in shark-infested waters (on the daily) and rowing for upwards of 90 days on the trot with no pitstops?

Eat, sleep, row, cut the cockles (and boils on their own skin) off, repeat...

Well, this is exactly what the She rOars team have signed up to do. Sabrina Simpson and Leanne Maiden are two ordinary women from Scotland about to embark upon an extraordinary adventure.

And their reason for doing so is wonderful:

As a team we are enthusiastic and motivated with equality and empowerment of women and girls being at the forefront of our minds. As we grow from absolute beginners to seasoned sea rower in this new unaccustomed world we hope to inspire other women and girls to step outside their norm and go on their own ADVENTURE of DISCOVERY to reach for that previously unreachable goal.
