Do I Have to Pay Amex Gold or Amex Platinum in Full? 

Unlike most credit cards, American Express charge cards like the Amex Gold or the Amex Platinum cards do not have credit limits and therefore are usually paid in full every single month.

American Express recently introduced the Pay Over Time feature which allows certain purchases to be paid over a couple of months which is not necessarily a good idea. 

The reason this is bad is you will then pay interest for any purchases, not paid in full at the end of the month, and too many extended purchases may retract your no preset credit limit

If you need to make purchases and pay them off over a couple months, make sure to get 0% interest credit cards for those transactions
