Johann Sebastian Bach's Six Brandenburg Concertos are some of the most important Baroque instrumental music compositions written. Completed in 1721, they are all written in concerto grosso form and have the unofficial title of 'six concertos for several instruments’. The third and final movement of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.5 is a fast and lively dance. Flute, violin and harpsichord (the concertino) display superb virtuosity elegantly supported by counterpoint music from a string ensemble (ripieno) and continue.
