Stranger Things 5, the fourth season of Stranger Things was officially announced on September 30, 2019. It is currently in production. A release date has yet to be officially revealed. The season will explore regions outside Hawkins, Indiana, as shown by the announcement trailer. Following the release of Season 3, the Duffer Brothers stated that if Stranger Things was renewed for the fourth season (renewal was confirmed two months later), the season would be very different and they would explore newer locations outside Hawkins in order to "open up plot-lines".
