How to Easily Defeat Commander Thorpe Explained (Full Boss Fight) | New World: The Depths

This was my second kill (1st was at lvl 45) and it was still tough. The Depths recommends at least level 45 and offers two challenging boss fights with unique mechanics that we discuss here. Hopefully this covers any questions you might have regarding this fight and allows you to tackle the Depths confidently be it your first time or your hundredth. Commander Thorpe's Abilities:

1) Shoulder Charge: Thorpe charges to a player, knocking them down. On a hit, he will combo attack at you, dealing massive damage. Callout: "Ha! Pathetic!" *Will only use on range target*

2) Pull: Thorpe raises his sword while he extends his arm towards a player. Then he pulls that player to him dealing damage. *Will only use on range target*

3) Somersault: Thorpe somersaults towards a player, landing with a slash that deals area damage in a small radius. *Will only use on range target*

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ PHASE 2 ONLY \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

4) Summon Behemoth: Thorpe summons forth 2 Corrupted Behemoths while he floats irregularly. These Behemoths deal a lot of damage and launch big boulders that deal damage. DPS should focus down behemoths ASAP or they can overwhelm the tank. Callout: "This will be the last time we meet".

5) Corrupted Beam: Thorpe fires a beam then he will slowly turn the beam around. This beam inflicts massive damage. One will spawn at the start of phase 2 immediately after behemoths are summoned. WATCH OUT! Callout: "Prepare to have your soul crushed". (Some players have reported that this Beam is sometimes not rendered properly making it invisible)

6) Fire Storm: Thorpe summons a ring of fire at a player's location. Players inside may be safe as long as they do not cross the fire which inflicts a lot of damage. Sometimes he could use this over a dead player to prevent other members of the party from reviving them. Only dangerous when combined with other abilities. Callout: "I will crush you beneath my heel, ant!"

7) Corrupted Blast: Thorpe raises his flaming sword above his head with both hands, plunges it into the ground, and then releases a blast of Corrupted Energy in a radius around him dealing massive damage. This telegraph is very long and the area of effect marked with a circle. Just dodge backwards, wait for explosion, then heavy attack to move back in. Callout: "Time to taste Corrupted steel!"
