On September 6th 1949 the U.S army veteran walked out onto a New Jersey high street, Luger in hand and in just over 20 minutes he had killed 13 people. Men, women, and children would lose their lives that day. Some Unruh had targeted, others were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But what drove the WWII Veteran to commit such a heinous crime?
