County in Maryland Rules on Children Being Taught Gender Ideology | EWTN News Nightly

In Maryland, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled this week that parents in Montgomery County do not have the right to opt their children out from being taught and read books on subjects such as transgenderism and LGTBQ ideology. Eric Baxter with Becket Law, the firm representing the parents challenging the courses, said in a statement that the ruling in part "runs contrary to the First Amendment, Maryland law, the school board's own policies and basic human decency." Vice President and Senior Counsel at Becket, Eric Baxter, joins to talk more about the plaintiffs and what this ruling says to them. In a number of states, including neighboring Virginia, parents have the right to opt their children out of certain parts or all of curriculum like family life education. Baxter shares why not in Montgomery County, Maryland and whether that is the case throughout the state. Family life education is typically for middle and high school students, but these are children in pre-K and elementary school. Some of these books are quite sexual and graphic. Baxter explains more.
