Mavic Air vs Mavic Pro - Which Drone Should You Buy?

The NEW Filmora11 UPDATE is HERE! ✨ Download and Try Filmora 11 now: https://filmora.wondershare.com/Try Filmora: https://bit.ly/2uwGIbF Weʼve got two Dji Drones, the Mavic Pro and the Mavic Air. We had a drone battle to see which one comes out on top when it comes to the overall design and specs, flight capabilities and footage quality. If youʼre in the market for your first drone and not sure which to buy, this video is for you.

OVERALL DESIGN
The design of the Mavic Pro is sleek, and has a firmer grip to it. It folds up to take up less space which is great for any travel expeditions. But! The Mavic Air is much more compact and light. It was designed and marketed as a drone that's the size of your phone. However it feel a bit plasticy. Both drones require micro SD memory
cards to record footage, however the Air has 8gb of internal storage built right in. So if you forget your memory cards at home, it's not the end of the world.

The Mavic Proʼs camera is more open, while the Mavic Airʼs camera is slightly nestled into the chassis. The Mavic Air is roughly half the size of the Mavic Pro,and itʼs 41% lighter. The Mavic Pro weighs in at 734g while the Mavic Air is just 430g. So the bottom line is when it comes to design and portability, I think the Air takes the cake.

FLIGHT AND CONTROL
The immediate difference between these 2 is that the Mavic Pro
boasts up to 27 minutes of flight time while the Air lasts 21 minutes.
In terms of total flight distance possible with each drone, the Mavic
Air can go 6.2 miles (10km) without wind on a single charge, while
the Mavic Pro can go 8 miles (13km).
BUT, The Mavic Air is faster. It can whizz through at 42.5mph
(68.4km/h) in sport mode compared to the Mavic Pros top speed of
40mph (65km/h) The Air has sensors on the front, back, and even
underneath the drone to prevent crashing into obstacles. The Mavic
Pro only has front and bottom camera sensors.

IMAGE QUALITY
Both drones have excellent cameras. They can shoot in 4K, take 12MP photos, have great gimbals, and can shoot a variety of Frame Rates. But when it comes to shooting video the Mavic Air has some features the Mavic Pro lacks. For example, in slow motion HD the Mavic Air gets the edge with a frame rate of 120 fps, where the mavic pro however, to hit 120fps, it has to shoot at 720p. The Mavic Air also has a variety of QuickShots. QuickShots is a mode that allows new drone users to get more complex shots, that more experienced drone pilot can do. It has six different modes to choose from. On the Mavic Pro, there are only three. You get Helix, Dronie, and Rocket, but all of the other modes are only available on the Mavic Air such as Circle, Boomerang, and most famous Asteroid.

Which One to Get?

To summarize quickly, the Mavic Pro beats the Mavic Air when it comes to flight time and range. The Mavic Air, is more compact, lighter, faster, and less expensive. Both have great cameras with a variety of features, but the mavic air has more quickshot options which can be very useful for the beginner drone operator.
Luckily for you, there really isnʼt a wrong decision. They are both fantastic drones,
but if I have to pick a winner, I would go with the Mavic Air. It has more features I
like, such as the internal storage, its smaller so I can fit more into my camera bag,
and its newer. Iʼm also more of a beginner so saving money to see if I actually like
the drone and the quickshot modes were very appealing to me.
