"Mysteries of the Church" Season 1 Episode 4 - "Local Saints" (04/27/18)

Searching for local inspiration and spirituality, Mysteries of The Church looks at the process of sainthood – what is it that makes the Church recognize some with this holy honor? What makes a saint? We will look at local examples to see the lives led by some of the Church's most inspiring figures.

Examples: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, first native born American saint. Founded the Society for the Relief of Poor Widows in New York City, established the Sisters of Charity in the U.S., and began the system of parochial schools in the United States.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini - Founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Father Vincent R. Capodanno – Vietnam War Chaplin from Staten Island who gave his life to save other's souls.
